Sick, Sick, Germs, Germs, Yuck, Yuck

As usual we are fighting a cold here at our house....first Le, then me, now Jeff, next will be Le, etc, etc.
You would think that one of us would smart up and take stock in Nyquil and Kleenex....or maybe we should just go to opposite sides of the earth until we all are well....
I think for me somewhere warm and tropical. If I am going to be yucky and miserable I would rather do it in paradise....Wishing you all the healthy of season...

There is Sunshine in my Soul Today....

Sunsets are always awesome to watch, whether you are in the mountains or at the beach, but I LOVE to watch an Arizona Sunset. The mountains, glow and burn with the colors..."It is an awesome wonder"

Farmer John or Mary Mary Quite Contrary?

What could be going here?  Corn, and Corn and Corn and Sunflowers, Sunflowers, and Sunflowers. (yup, 3 kinds of each)

Strawberries, Lime and Lemon tree, and the ever wishful Red Raspberries.

When the sky opens up

The rain passed through without too much fanfare. although there were some areas that were well flooded, but after it was done the areas were prime areas to find "garden dirt". the wash rose up pretty high after they released water from the dams although none were overflowing or anywhere near capacity. The wash is still flowing, so it will be awhile before the atv's can use it again. The wash is just 3 streets over and well over 30 feet deep.

Happy Birthday Jeff

It was a Monday, not a Sunday that we celebrated the 1st Birthday of the Year (in our house). With much excitement we all sat at the Kitchen table (maybe because its been awhile since it was cleaned off?).  We had a light dinner (who wants dinner when you can have ice cream?), then finished it off with the Birthday Cake. Then without any further ado we (Jeff) opened presents. (the bullets were already purchased and used before the opening of birthday gifts). The theme was to replenish the backpack, so it was a mix of different items to fill the order. New Binoculars, a Digital compass, and misc items.
There was the cards sent in the mail with well wishes---which went over better than the well wishes earlier in the day.

The Highlight of the Birthday was the "gold pan and pick" Can you say Lost Dutchman? or thar gold in dem thar hills.....

A drive with Jeff...

Taking a drive with Jeff is a time of reflection and fun...when he says lets go for a drive..most people would grab their jacket and be off...in our case it means loading the arsenal, grabbing your jacket and 3 days worth of food, a blanket and a pillow and any other survival gear thing you may need. On this trip I left a trail of orange peels...kinda like Hansel and Gretal.

Somewhere up this road is my Jeff, he's just checking a water source for quail...somewhere.....

of course out in the middle of nowhere you will find anything...this was after we turned at the cow bones, before the border.....
Even the cows are wondering what in the heck I am doing....I was wondering what the heck I was doing...actually 2 cows before this one i thought was in some trouble it would not stop bellowing..this one heard my camera click and stop to check me out....so I took this pic and told it I was done it could leave so it did...I wish other people could of listen like that...

can you say Cactus..most people just say ouch...especially not fun to locate cactus when you are "toolie hopping"...for you that don't know what it is ...that would be when you are out using nature. Now boonie hopping is when you are out in the boonies...no one around....

Here is my hubby...he is saying " i am going to break your camera if you don't put it away" He loves me....honestly...even if I take my life in my hands going quail hunting with him...

It drives me loony when people don't know how to camp...this makes the second fire Jeff had to put out when he was out there.... at least this one was not blazing like the last one..... see life is an adventure...you never know what is in store for you....

Going to and fro...

Driving down Ironwood is never dull....when Jeff is driving I usually play with my camera...this is the sports setting and zoom.   Pictures of the dirt park where you can ride your bikes, and atvs, it has lots and lots of jumps, D says it is a little on the expensive side..but it is always crowded, always.... then the pics are of the Steelmill of course--no pictures are allowed, but not too bad for the distance away it is from the road ....I could actually get a little closer but it starts to get blurry...

Mary Mary How does your garden grow?

Location, Location is the key to a garden, in this case it's where are there less rocks..

then there is the issue of planting...

next is the fill dirt....lots and lots of dirt...did I mention lots and lots of dirt?  we got the dirt loaded it into the truck-one shovel at a time and un loaded it one shovel at a time and then put it in the garden then moved it around one shovel at a time (the one shovel at a time would be Jeff)

next is what to plant...so many choices, too many rocks... these are my apricot trees, hope they do good. choices were, squash, zucchini, 3 types of tomatoes, lettuce, green beans, peas, watermelon, cantalope, bell pepper, onions, chives, garlic, oregeno, cilantro, radishes, carrots, mint, parsley and jalepenos.

shhh....and lime, orange and lemon tree (which is a no no with the HOA), but their minis...

there are strawberries of course...
we have blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, roses 3 kind
Got an awesome deal on my arch and trellises from Target they were on clearance....that word-clearance ranks right on up there with chocolate I love that word especially if it is 85% off.
The key to planting a garden is to use "Miracle Grow" and you can have plants "coming up" in less than a week...OR.....
You can go buy live plants and tell your family the story above...I used lots and lots of "Miracle Grow".....yes I did.....

Brief summary of Christmas 2009

To the total embarrassment of my children here is one of my nativity sets. I collect them but am particular on them also. This is one that has been colored and laminated. There are magnetic on the back. They are a copy of ones that I gave the nursery kids for Christmas a few years back. This seem to be a hit because they can "tell" the story and move the "pictures".

The holidays were tad on the hectic side, and our tree reflected it too.. but I have to admit I love hits droopy top...

One thing I did wish for this Christmas was clean windows...oh no that was on Grandma's Charlotte's list.   Oh well she can have the clean windows and I'll take the Window Washer.

Christmas Eve was a day to reflect on how "comfy" life is for us as we go bumping down the road on to bigger and better things?

Time to do some pondering on the Holiday season, what better way then to Shoot something?
The Rowden's have "hidden" secrets... a little target practice?

Some handgun practice?
How about it's own militia? Is that it? is that all of it? Ahhh we'll never tell.

One, Two ,Three ....Destroy !!!!!
Okay if you get bored with that you can always take a break and do a little sight seeing.
On Christmas Day we head up to the Valley to spend some time with family.  Every year this tree gets decorated outside of Sunset Point... this has been going on for many many years. each year it seems to have more and more decorations on it.  Happy Holidays to whom ever is responsible.. they have provided many memories. (pic is not the best was doing 75 at the time)
Christmas Dinner is a cross between sit-down and buffet... there is Grandpa de-boning the Turkey, which Auntie Laurie made...can you say good eating !!!
