What kinda day did you have?

It's the end of the month and of course between house payments, bills and our long lost friends the Tax people.... This is the day we had.

Time to get out of Dodge City

The holster was Jeff's Father Day's Gift. The hat is reeeaaaallllyyyy old. The bullets...well right now probably worth more than gold. Jeff is dying to practice his quick draw, but we need to find a leathersmith. (the holster is a tad big, it was the only size that was for a 357 or 38). So if you know of one let us know. Once he gets good we will hit the streets of Tombstone. So watch out!!! (personally, you probably have some time, he works all the time)

Sleeping Beauty

Someone needs to let her know that it is almost 10 am.. School starts in less than a week and they don't care if you get your alloted sleep or not.

Shopping !!!

We went to the Arizona Mills Mall and they had this restaurant inside, it was an awesome sight it definately made you forget about the 118 degree weather outside. Meet Mr. Frog, he welcomed and invited you into the "Rainforest" Mr. Giraffe was there to keep an eye on things (although I didn't think there were giraffes in the rainforest)
Mr Alligator was checking things out---he wanted to make sure you ate all your veggies!!
It was a haven for the little ones with all the rides that were inside the food court. Will be going back to take some more pics. So stay tuned.

We are not in Kansas, anymore.

Here we are on our way to Box Canyon. You know you would think I would of learned a long time ago not to trust Jeff. It went from lets to to Box Canyon to I think this is the way to Box Canyon.
Following the railroad tracks until we get to the fork in the road which way? WE THINK its to the left.
This is to the left---This is us building a road, AGAIN!!!
Doesn't look too bad a few rocks here and there. YEA Right !!!
Let's just say my car has been abused---high centered, (Not recommended ) We went to use the jack and it was not complete so it was push and pull, lift and rock.
This is an abandoned mine after we got "unstuck" So what do you do to relieve the stress??? you shoot something Here is Annie Oakley of Ohio-- and then the family thing---you don't suppose they were a tad relaxed about the whole thing, do you??? Leaning up on the car?
The next stop was home, shower and eat. We are going back but this time in the Beast.

Red??? Yes Red !!

Talk about a surprise !
We have broken out of our comfort zone---I have a red room! looks really nice and different. Jeff surprised me when he pick and painted our room red --we have always gone with muted colors. This house is definitely embracing the southwest. Still working on some of the rooms but definitely an improvement from the white walls.

You are a resident if you are in School

Well we got the okay from San Tan for Le to be in school. So we will see about her schedule on Monday. Seems there are alot in the same situation. Politics ! At least this school is small, as of right now (their graduation last year was a class of not 200, not 753 but 54) all this just for 2 required classes and 1.5 credits.

TO BE OR NOT TO BE

Why us??? We move to Queen Creek, but we really don't live in Queen Creek. We live in Pinal County not Maricopa County. We live outside of QC, so because of the location our zip code is not 85240 it is 85140, As of July. unless you need to look something up then it is 240 cuz it is not recognized and because we DON'T live in QC the NEW name for our area is San Tan Valley. Actually like that much better it sounds so much more "LA DE DA" kinda like San Bernadino, San Fernando. Maybe they should of named it San Tan Beach ! Like Malibu. Heaven knows we have plenty of sand and no public water access just like Malibu. No one needs to know that we have no water at all except irrigation ditches. Because we do not live in QC, we are not in the school district. because we are in Pinal county we are AJ which is 9 miles away (QC is 3 miles). Although they just built a NEW high school, they are only taking 9th and 10th grades. So what are our options???? San Tan High School---10.5 miles away---have to do open enrollment there too... Right now we are in limbo..... hope decisions are made soon, school starts the 3rd of August The other joys of being in "no man's" land is we don't have residency for the library, pool or any other activities. Queen Creek gives the impression that they don't want any part of San Tan Valley, but heck let's incorp. the Hospital and Frys grocery for the taxes----they are in San Tan Valley also-----reminds me of Memphis. The joys of moving---we go through this everytime---maybe I should write a book of lists---BEFORE YOU MOVE ASK THIS QUESTION AND THIS QUESTION AND DON'T FORGET TO GET THIS INFORMATION AND THIS AND THIS AND THIS. Joys and Joys......

Official--

We are officially AZ residents--well kinda, gotta do all the other stuff---register for school, change titles, get drivers license. Change voter info, etc...etc....etc.... We are still unpacking boxes, have no furniture in the front room, too many books, no bookcases. lots of pictures, not the right walls. already put the dishes away, need more cabinets. (hard to believe how much you use up space that you never had before) lots and lots of papers to go through AND organize. Can't do much more until we get storage/shelves up in the garage--can't put shelves up until we get the boxes out of the garage. Anybody want boxes?? But we are open for company--promise not to put you to work. would just enjoy any break from boxes. Our place in Ohio is up for rent if anyone is interested. We had a family from Idaho looking at renting. but right now they are fighting with their student fianancing to get the rent paid. They are suppose to move in the end of July. Talk about stress of trying to do things long distance and 3 hours time difference. It is a real joy to get phone calls at 5 or 6 am. that would be 8 or 9 Ohio time. But if you all know of any one wanting to go to medical/dental/podiatry school in Ohio. We have the space for them to rent.

Camping?

For the 4th we traveled up to the "Northern country"
For being up in the pines we all got really nice tans. We did a day trip to see Tina's family. They were all camping outside of Stoneman Lake. While there we did the usual family activity of eating and eating and eating. Mike made some awesome Jalapeno poppers (His secret recipe) and gave a cooking lesson on how to make "Grandma's rice". In the evening we watched the cars leave the firework display from farther north and then we came home--made for a long day, but enjoyable.

Basking in the love

We have been doing the 100's and teens lately. But we are not fussing just being thankful it is not the 100's and twentys. Although the weather has been pretty mild for this time of the year. don't you think?
