I've been waiting on the railroad.....

In all the months we have lived here and have "stopped" at the light" we have never had to stop for the train. Then one day last week I got the red light and waited on the train all 2 engines and 8 cars, so...when I got the stoplights and barricades I wasn't too stress even though we were running late for school......well many, many cars later we finaly got to the end....the fun thing about it though was it reminded us of living in Waxhaw . When the train use to come through town it would back traffic up into South Carolina, being Waxhaw is a "one road in and one road out" kinda town. Ahh..memories....

Reason for caution, concern or panic?

Have you ever read the uses for Apple Cider Vinegar?
You can use it for Salad Dressings, cleaning produce, ease sunburn or bug bites. okay, (caution). Tenderize meat, get rid of the order of cigarettes, remove order from hands. hmmm (concern). clean rust from bolts and tools....make a volcano. oh my ! ( panic).
makes you wonder if something that will cause an eruption or remove rust is healthy or a good idea to use in something you digest or ingest???
Whatcha think?

You won!!!

What makes an interesting day at church? When it gets announced that the winner of the chili cookoff is unknown....could the owner of the tin pan fess up to making the winning chili...what makes it even more interesting? It makes the Sacrament announcements and everyone is turning round to see who admits they made the chili. But what happens when that person just threw the chili together because they signed up to make chili and did not know that there was a "cookoff"

What if that person just dropped off the chili because they were on their way to see their nephew play football? What if YOU had to fess up to making that chili so they could put your name on the "ward plaque" that will be kept in the Bishop's office?  Okay, OKay, OKAy, OKAY, it was mmeee! I did it, I did it !!!

What is a bad day?

A bad day of hiking is when you "break" your potato chips

or if your candy melts in your backpack, but it is truly a "wash" of a day when the melted candy makes your bullets sticky.

...then you have to come home and wash them, (the bullets). Better days for a hike than today.

Ugh, yuck and such

It's been a week of trying to get things accomplished, but as ususal I have yet to get ANYTHING done. Maybe this is where ADD come in. I start something then I get a "bright" idea and start something else, I have yet to finish any of it. Life can be so rough. So many projects...so little time. Just think how much chaos in unfinished projects I could case if I was cloned...

Who took the cat's collar?

Getting ready for the Con...that would be Manga, Anime and stuff... this is the second day...she is Batgirl....now someone should tell her that Catwoman she is not and that red thing that is around her neck???? the cat's collar....

Le volunteered for 3 days worth, she worked "crowd control" and was nabbing voice actors when they exited the restrooms  (shhhhh, she's Batgirl)....

Trick or Treats...TREATS OF COURSE

How do you carve a pumpkin? Well if u are a Rowden..you go to the pumpkin store.....
then you start with chocolate...Hot Chocolate with Ghost marshmallows.
Think about what your Jack'o'lantern is going to be
That's it...so simple, naw time to be creative.

Ideas, Ideas, Ideas

So here are the ideas...and here are the results...kinda.. sorta, ..maybe... close?

We put a strobe light in the Owl....I think next year it would go in the regular face...it was kinda hard to make out that it was an owl.

next was pulling down the pumpkins and lighting them up
next year we are going back to different lights...it is hard to see them with the glow stix and hard to keep them in..they kept falling out of the eye or nose or mouth.
Next is setting up there are 8, yes 8 LARGE bags of candy in that basket, after it was all done, we had probably 30 small pieces left.

The morning after...how many times have we felt like this poor pumpkin after a howling night out??
